The units stayed covered while the old tiles came off and the wall was stripped back to the brick. Then a marble-effect worktop and a full-height splashback went in.
The left photo is the part most people never see: bare brick, loose sockets and plastic sheeting everywhere. Getting that wall flat and sound is what lets the splashback on the right sit perfectly straight.

The part you don't see
Any kitchen looks good on day one. We build ours for year seven.
Most kitchen problems start behind the doors: a sink that was never sealed, an integrated fridge with no air, a unit forced against a crooked wall. Customers have called us out to fix the first two on other people's installations, so we fit ours to stop them happening.
Cut edges sealed
Water finds any raw edge of chipboard, especially round sink and hob cut-outs. A slow leak you can't see can wreck a cabinet over a few years. We seal the edges before anything goes in.
Room for appliances to breathe
Integrated fridges and ovens need air moving through the plinth and housing. Without it they run hot and fail early. We plan the vents from the start.
Scribed, not forced
Few houses have square walls. We cut end panels and fillers to the real shape of the room, so the gaps stay tight and the doors stay in line.
Level before the worktop
Every base unit is levelled across the whole run before the worktop goes down. That's why doors meet neatly and drawers don't creep open.
